Cajun Hot Bloody Mary
I love a good Bloody Mary, a good and HOT Bloody Mary. If you aren't into real spicy food just mix some vodka with the Zing Zang, ganish it and call it a drink. If you are into a little heat, make this pitcher of Bloody Mary's. In fact as soon as this blog is posted, guess where I'm heading... um hum.

Mango Peach Smoothie
We have been juicing and making smoothies lately. I have some recipes to use as guides most times. But last weekend I just threw together some stuff we had and this is what I came up with. No your eyes aren't deceiving you, this turned out green from the hemp protein. Next time I'll use a different form of protein to keep this a beautiful peachy color.
Add all ingredients to your blender and let it rip. I think I used high power for 1 minute.
Yes, green- but it tasted wonderful.
- 1 ripe peach, sliced
- 1 ripe mango, sliced
- 1/2 package frozen Guanabana
- 1 can coconut water
- 1/4 cup Hemp protein powder
Add all ingredients to your blender and let it rip. I think I used high power for 1 minute.
Yes, green- but it tasted wonderful.

Purple Monster Smoothie
Tay and I saw Ree Drummond make this on the Food Network and she insisted we try it. I knew she wouldn't drink it but Jack and I thought it was delicious. Tay routinely asks for this smoothie and has actually began taking a few sips before she's "full". Below is the vegan version that we make.
- 1 cup blueberries, frozen
- 1 cup green grapes
- 8 strawberries, unhulled, frozen
- 1 banana
- 1 cup soy yogurt
- 3/4 cup non-dairy milk
- 2 tablespoons agave, or more to taste
- Ice
Put the blueberries, grapes, strawberries,
banana, yogurt, milk, honey and ice into blender.
Blend until smooth.
Serve immediately.
If I have protein powder on hand I usually add about 2 servings while this is blending.
Enjoy!

Breakfast Mango Smoothie
I've been making smoothies out of whatever fruit is in the frig or on the counter. I had a mango that needed to be used so this is my version of a thick breakfast smoothie.
Dump all the ingredients in to your blender. Mix well, you may need to scrape the sides of the blender to get all of the protein powder incorporated.
Enjoy!
- 1 banana
- 1 mango
- 6 large frozen strawberries
- 2 servings protein powder
- 1 cup non-dairy milk
Dump all the ingredients in to your blender. Mix well, you may need to scrape the sides of the blender to get all of the protein powder incorporated.
Enjoy!
